The Quadrado of Trancoso
Trancoso is one of the most recognized beach-destinations in Brazil. Its known for its beautiful beaches, the charming Quadrado (Village Square) and for its rich and historic culture. Trancoso is situated in the south of the state of Bahia with easy access by the airport of Porto Seguro.
With many gorgeous spots and breathtaking views Trancoso is a place, that offers both luxury accomodation and great cuisine while maintaining the simplicity and its rustic charm. The Quadrado is where things happen in the evening and the place for a drink and a romantic candlelit dinner at a open-air restaurant. Also amazing for friends and family it offers a wide variety of restaurants. At the end of the grassy square is a small historic church to complete the charm.
The weather couldnt be better, as we have sunny weather around the year and reasonable temperatures. Even in the summer temperatures rarely pass the 28-30 degree mark (80-85 Fahrenheit) and in winter days are still nice with temperatures around 22-24 degrees (70-75 Fahrenheit). Of course there are rainy days, but rains can be refreshing and the skys usually clear up fast. Trancoso was founded by jesuit missionaries in 1586 as one of the first settlements in Brazil and the layout of the square is still intact and gives testament to the jesuit history.
